Unique Transportation Market Project:

BVA is working with the Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR) T1 Steam Locomotive Trust to bring back to life the legendary T1 Steam locomotives introduced in the 1940s. These engineering marvels, built at the Altoona Works and Baldwin Locomotive Works outside Philadelphia, weighed 502,000 lbs and were capable of top speeds well in excess of 100 mph.

BVA is working with the T1 Trust to manufacture the wheelsets for a new T1 locomotive under construction, PRRT1 #5550. The wheels are cast of a nickel steel composition, based on the original specifications.

More information concerning the project can be found at the T1 Trust website. Also available for download is a 2016 article in Popular Mechanics magazine.
